How I work

Managed from concept to completion.

One brief, one point of contact, and a project managed through six clear stages — the same whether it’s a box of business cards or the print for a national event.

Six stages, signed off as we go.

Each stage ends with a clear decision from you, so there are no surprises at the printer.

  1. Stage 01

    Brief & scope

Objectives, specification, quantities, budget and deadline agreed — with a fixed quote and a schedule.

YouSend an outline. A rough idea is fine.

    Quote agreed

  2. Stage 02

    Concept

Creative concepts developed around your brief and audience. A free mock-up first, if you’d like one.

YouShare logos, examples and anything you like.

    Concept approved

  3. Stage 03

    Design development

The chosen direction refined with your feedback, within the amendment rounds in your quote.

YouSend each round’s changes together, in one email.

  4. Stage 04

    Artwork & proofing

Print-ready artwork, preflighted for bleed, resolution and colour, then proofed.

YouCheck every word, name, number and date.

    Artwork signed off

  5. Stage 05

    Production

Stocks and finishes specified, print partners managed, every job quality-checked. Most print is ready in 1–4 working days.

YouNothing — unless you want a printed proof.

    Proof approved

  6. Stage 06

    Delivery

Delivered on schedule to one address or many, or installed at the venue. Files archived for easy reprints.

    YouReceive it. Invoice follows.

My promise

Nothing goes to print until you have approved it in writing.

Not sure yet? I’m happy to mock up an idea first — free, and with no obligation.

  • Fixed quoteAgreed in writing before any work starts.
  • Printed proofsA physical proof before the full run on larger jobs.
  • Reprints made easyPrint-ready files archived for repeat orders.

Projects of every scale

Same process, any size of job.

  • Small

Business cards, flyers and single print runs.

Turned round in days — most print is ready 1–4 working days after sign-off.

  • Medium

Brochures, reports, publications and marketing campaigns.

Typically one to two weeks, depending on content and approvals.

  • Large

Multi-item event and exhibition print, across one venue or several — with a specialist team assembled and managed for the job.

Usually four to six weeks, planned back from the event date.

How work leaves the studio.

Most print problems come from the file, not the press. These checks happen on every job before anything is released.

Print-ready artwork
PDFs built to each printer’s specification, with bleed, crop marks and correct colour space. Screen versions supplied alongside.
Pre-press checks
Colour, resolution, fonts, overprint and page order checked before anything goes to press.
Proofs you sign off
Every job is proofed and approved by you. Personalised items are checked name by name.
The right spec
Process, stock, size and finish matched to the job, the quantity and the budget, from short digital runs to large volumes.
Quality-checked output
Suppliers are briefed directly and finished work is checked before it leaves for delivery.
Delivered or installed
To your door, or installed at the venue, on the date agreed.

Working together

Proofs, files & payments.

01

Proofs & approvals

  • Proofs arrive as PDFs by email — send each round’s changes together.
  • Check spelling, names, phone numbers, dates and prices.
  • Nothing is printed until you approve it in writing.
  • Colours can differ slightly on screen; a printed proof can be arranged.
02

Sending files

  • Large files: a WeTransfer, Drive or Dropbox link.
  • Logos: AI, EPS, PDF or SVG if you have them — otherwise the best quality you have.
  • Photos: original full-size images, not screenshots or social media copies.
  • Text: a Word document or the body of an email, checked and final.
03

Payments

  • Invoices are payable on receipt by bank transfer, unless instalments were agreed.
  • MN Studio is not VAT registered, so the invoice total is the full amount.
  • Bank details never change by email. If you get a message saying they have, call before paying.

Getting started

Three easy ways to begin.

Whether you have a rough idea or print-ready files, start however suits you.

  1. Send a brief

Email or call me with what you need — rough details are fine. You’ll get a clear, fixed quote within one working day.

  2. Talk it through

Prefer a conversation? Call or message on WhatsApp and we’ll work out what you need together.

  3. See an idea first

Not sure yet? I’ll mock up an idea based on what you use now — free, and with no obligation.

Getting started

How do I start working with MN Studio?

Send a project outline by email, or call me. I’ll arrange a short call to discuss scope, timeline and objectives, then send a fixed quote before any work begins.

What do you need to give me a quote?

What you need, approximate quantities and sizes, your deadline or event date, and any existing brand guidelines or templates. If you’re unsure about any of it, the free print buying guide covers the details — or just ask.

Do you work with organisations of all sizes?

Yes — businesses, charities, community and membership organisations, schools and national conference programmes. The process is the same at every scale.

Do you work outside the UK?

Print is produced through UK partners and delivered to any UK address. Design, brand, presentation and publication work is delivered internationally and managed remotely.

Can I see an idea before committing?

Yes. I’m happy to mock up an idea based on what you use now — free and with no obligation.

Process

How many rounds of amendments are included?

Most projects include two rounds, set out in the quote. Additional rounds are available if needed.

Will I have one point of contact?

Yes. I manage your project from brief to delivery, without hand-offs.

Can you manage print production and delivery too?

Yes. I prepare print-ready files, specify stocks and finishes, manage print partners, check quality and coordinate delivery or installation.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes, where required. Confidential material is handled with discretion as standard.

Artwork & files

What file formats do you accept for logos?

Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG, PDF) are best. High-resolution PNGs also work, and low-resolution logos can usually be redrawn.

I don't have professional photography — can you still help?

Yes. I can source suitable stock photography or illustration, assess your own images, or advise on commissioning photography.

What will I receive at the end?

Print-ready PDFs with bleed and crop marks, screen-optimised versions, and original design files on request. Print-ready files are archived so reprints are simple.

I don’t have print-ready files — is that a problem?

No. Send what you have and I’ll prepare and check the artwork.

Print & production

Do you handle print, or just design?

Both. Choose the whole job — design, pre-press, print and delivery — or design only, with print-ready files for your own printer, or print only from your existing artwork.

Can you print small quantities?

Yes, from short digital runs to large volumes. I’ll recommend the most cost-effective process for the quantity.

Not sure what size, paper or finish to choose?

Tell me what you’re making and I’ll recommend the right size, paper and finish — free. The print buying guide explains the options.

Timelines

How long does a project take?

Most print is ready in 1–4 working days once artwork is signed off. Straightforward design jobs take one to two weeks; multi-format programmes four to six. Prompt content and feedback make the biggest difference.

Do you work outside office hours?

When a project needs it. Events don’t keep office hours, so if a deadline falls on an evening, a weekend or a bank holiday, that’s when the work gets done.

I have a tight deadline — can you help?

Often, yes. Get in touch early for an honest view of what’s achievable. Express print options exist, at an extra cost.

Communication

How do we communicate during a project?

Email for briefs, proofs and approvals; WhatsApp for quick questions; phone or video call for kick-offs and reviews. Briefs, proofs and sign-offs all work remotely, wherever you are in the UK.
